"Extreme Danger" by Shannon McKenna

Having recently gone through a romantic suspense phase, I tried out a bunch of authors for the first time, including Shannon McKenna. Many of these authors failed to impressed, but I was happy with McKenna. Extreme Danger is an exciting and sexy book, one that surpassed my tepid expectations. I thought it would be all about the smut -- and there was some serious sexual tension -- but the tense, nervous plot takes over right away. The female lead, Becca Cattrell, is an awesome character... a compelling mixure of raw strength and vulnerability. The male lead, Nick Ward, is interesting but this is really Becca's story, her survival, with Nick spicing things up.
