"Selene" by Lilith Saintcrow

If you've read Saintcrow's Dante Valentine series then you may recall Nikolai and Selene, the Nichtvren couple who run Saint City. Or you may have been introduced to these two in "Brother's Keeper" from the anthology Hotter Than Hell, which serves as a prequel to Selene. I was always hoping Saintcrow would write more about these two -- there's something intriguing about Nikolai's single-minding adoration of his consort -- and now my wish has been granted. And as icing on the cake, it's free. Saintcrow will be posting this novel as an online serial in blog format. The prologue and first chapter are available now, with chapter updates coming every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Even if you haven't read the Danny Valentine books, there's no reason to not check out Selene. I mean, it's free... who doesn't love a free book?
